After his release from juvenile detention, David tries to find his way back into a structured life. He moves into supervised housing, takes a job as a kitchen assistant, and attends the required appointments with public authorities. His girlfriend Janine offers support, and old friends provide a sense of stability – at least for a while. But everyday life remains fragile. Debts from the past, dubious acquaintances, and a growing uncertainty about his place in the world begin to weigh on him. When he loses his job, David drifts away from what was meant to be a fresh start. RAIN FELL ON THE NOTHING NEW creates a cinematic space shaped by intimacy and a classic noir structure. The result is a Gangster Neo Noir – a concentrated, atmospherically rich drama about the struggle to break free from one’s own story.
